Publish date: 2022-03-26

Contraband contracts are a type of contract that you can complete in Call of Duty Warzone, which was introduced in Season 4.

Successfully delivering a contraband will reward you with a permanent blueprint for your weapons.

The only problem is that contraband contracts can't be found by exploring the map like other contracts.

Call of Duty Warzone contraband contracts explained

Contraband contracts are a special type of contract that was introduced into Warzone at the start of Season 4.

This new type of contract offers you the chance to earn a variety of permanent blueprints for your weapon collection by delivering contraband to specific drop locations.

First, however, you need to find yourself some contraband to deliver and, even when you do, the challenge isn't over.

If you're killed by another player while carrying contraband, they'll have the chance to steal it from your corpse and complete the contract themselves, stealing the blueprint from your dead hands.

How to find contraband contracts in Call of Duty Warzone

Contraband contracts randomly appear after you've completed a contract in Warzone. This means that the main method to finding one is to complete as many contracts as possible.

There are three different types of contract in Warzone - Bounty, Recon and Scavenger - and you can find contracts by opening your Tac map. Each contract has its own icon on the map, allowing you to quickly discover which ones are nearby.

We recommend focusing on Recon and Scavenger contracts, because these will hopefully keep you away from other players, allowing you to quickly complete as many contracts as possible.

It's important to note that you can only have one active contract per squad, which must either be completed or left to expire before you can start a new one. For this reason, it's a good idea to work effectively as a team, keeping a watch for enemy squads for example, to maximise your chances of finding contraband.

Keep successfully finishing contracts and, eventually, a blue box will appear amongst the loot you receive for completing a contract.

This is your contraband; pick it up and make sure you deliver it quickly.

There is, however, another way to find contraband and that's by killing a player who is carrying it. If you achieve this, you'll be able to pick up the contraband and complete the contract yourself.

This makes carrying contraband similar to carrying the red access cards for the bunkers hidden across the map.

The easier way to utilise this method is to keep a close eye on your surroundings and, if you see the red smoke of a contraband drop off point, carefully head towards it.

If you get there in enough time, you'll have a chance to kill the player carrying the contraband and be able to quickly deliver it - hopefully before anyone else turns up.

How to complete contraband contracts in Call of Duty Warzone

Once you've collected some contraband in Warzone, you need to deliver it as quickly as possible, because, if you're murdered, another player will be able to complete the contract and steal your reward.

With contraband in hand, a new marker will appear on your map, highlighting the dropoff point for your contraband. You'll also be able to find this location on your Tac map.

When you reach this location, head into the area that's highlighted by white light. It's a good idea to take cover after doing this, because you'll have dropped a red smoke flare, which might alert players to your location.

After a short wait, a bag will be dropped down from a choppa, much like how you can deposit money in Plunder, which is where you need to deposit your contraband.

If you do this successfully, you'll be rewarded with a blueprint!
