Call of Duty: Warzone now has a Solos mode
Warzone, Call of Duty's standalone free-to-play battle royale experience (also available as part of Modern Warfare), now has a Solos mode on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Up until today, Warzone's two distinct modes - Battle Royale and Plunder - were specifically designed for teams of three players, but, now, lone wolves can airdrop in Verdansk and face off against 149 other solo players for their Battle Royale thrills. "Think of this as Free-For-All in a traditional Call of Duty game, but on a massive scale," says Activision.
"When you hit the ground," continues the publisher in a bout of hint-giving for solo play, "intel becomes the most powerful weapon for survival. Along with paying attention to the Tac Map and Compass, be especially thorough about finding, and equipping, reconnaissance tools such as the Recon Drone, Heartbeat Monitor, and UAV."
With no squad revives or Buybacks available in Solos mode, players are advised to complete Contracts in order to swell their cash reserves, enabling them to purchase the likes of Self-Revive Kits from Buy Stations. Failing that, the Gulag remains accessible to solo players, although death here spells the end of a match for good.
Solos mode is available now for all players on Xbox One, PS4, and PC, and caps a barnstorming first week for Warzone, which has so far welcomed over 15 million players to the battlefield.
