Cyberpunk 2077 endings explained: How to unlock all endings in Cyberpunk 2077

Publish date: 2022-09-11

Cyberpunk 2077's endings, just like those in The Witcher 3, sees the game's main story conclude in several possible ways.

At one key moment, several choices are available based on the alliances you've made in the game. The more of these alliances you've made, the more will be available to you.

The good news is there is technically no point of no return, with the game resetting back to this key choice if you want to unlock and play through the other paths.

This means no ending, aside from the secret Cyberpunk 2077 ending, is missable - useful if you want to 100% Cyberpunk 2077's achievements or trophies.

Note that though this page is written with clarity and brevity in mind, there will be some spoilers throughout.

How many endings are there in Cyberpunk 2077?

There are technically six endings in Cyberpunk 2077. At a glance, and with no spoilers, these are:

None of these (bar the secret ending) are missable, with the game returning you to a point of no return within the Nocturne Op55N1 mission where you can attempt the others.

How to unlock the three ending choices during Nocturne Op55N1 in Cyberpunk 2077

During the mission Nocturne Op55N1, Johnny gives you a series of choices to make. It's at this point the story will branch out into one of the ending paths, locking you in for several missions until the conclusion.

If you have played through the main story missions and no other side quest chains, then by default only one ending will be available to you.

To unlock the two other 'regular' endings in Cyberpunk 2077, you must complete optional questlines involving Panam and Johnny / Rogue. Doing so will then add two additional options.

In summary, the main Cyberpunk 2077 ending choices are:

Note that aside from the 'Panam for help' variant, there will only be minor changes to each ending based on the dialogue choices you make within them as well as any romance options appearing in the epilogue.

Once you have finished any particular ending, you will return to the Nocturne Op55N1 mission in the story. This will then allow you to pursue the other two paths - or unlock their requirements in the open world, or do anything else you haven't got around to yet. That said, to be safe, it's worth having a manual save here to return to, just in case.

How to unlock the secret ending in Cyberpunk 2077

As well as the above core endings, there is one additional secret ending with requirements based on your relationship with Johnny Silverhand.

In short, once you have met those requirements, you must select the 'Think you and Rogue should go' option. You are then given several other options before you commit to this choice (which is where you make the choice for the bonus ending, described below).

At this point, simply wait here on these dialogue choices for around five minutes without pressing any buttons until Johnny Silverhand starts talking, giving you a unique ending path, named Don't Fear the Reaper.

In the weeks following launch, the community worked out the exact requirements for the secret ending. Despite initial theories, it is not based on your relationship with Johnny Silverhand, but specific responses during one of Johnny's end-game side mission, Chippin' In.

These are as follows (first discovered by Powerpyx and confirmed by roylv22 and others on reddit):

Ultimately, though this ending is missable, the good news is for completionists it's not required for any Cyberpunk 2077 achievements or trophies.

How to unlock the bonus ending in Cyberpunk 2077

As well as all of the above, there is one additional 'bonus' ending you can unlock which has no prior requirements.

To unlock it, during the Nocturne Op55N1 choice, make any decision. You then have to confirm that choice to be locked into the ending path.

There are, however, other options here - with the ability to back out and decide again ("Hang on. Need a minute") or not proceed with any other options after all ("Could also just put all this to rest"). It's this 'put all this to rest' option you need to choose.

After that, opt for the choice "[Toss pills] I know. Exactly what we're gonna do."

Unlike the other paths, this ends the game there and then - but does give you a short, unique cutscene with Johnny before the credits roll, before putting you back to the Nocturne Op55N1 choice.
