Cyberpunk 2077 The Information Braindance walkthrough

Publish date: 2022-10-11

The Information's Braindance Cyberpunk 2077 is the first real test of your detective skills in the game.

Beginning shortly after the Braindance tutorial, the puzzle allows V to scope out Yorinobu's apartment to find a Relic ahead of an infiltration mission.

There is a primary objective to complete the puzzle - finding the Relic - as well as a secondary, optional objective of scanning the apartment's security systems.

Though the track layers at the top of the screen provide some hints of where to find all these, you still need to be looking in the right place to complete these objectives - which is where this pages comes in.

How to start The Information Braindance

As with all Braindances, it's best to watch things in first-person view and in linear order, getting a sense of the story and the set-up first.

How this acts out is as follows - Evelyn will enter the apartment, where Yorinobu will be taking a video call, followed by a phone call.

This first step is straightforward - switch the audio track, then the playback mode, so you are in a free camera. Now centre in one the phone at Yorinobu's head, and follow him around until the phone call is complete.

This is where the more challenging objectives will begin.

How to scan Yorinobu's datapad in The Information Braindance

Next, you need to scan Yorinobu's datapad.

To do this, watch until the end of the sequence. Now, in the visual layer, focus in on the datapad as it enters the bedside drawer.

How to scan the apartment's security systems in The Information Braindance

To complete this optional objective, you must scan four specific points in the level.

The first is the Alarm System and Motion Sensor Camera, situated to the right of the apartment entrance. For us, we scanned these while in the visual layer just as Evelyn is entering the apartment.

Next, there's an Automated Turret and Motion Sensor Camera in the ceiling, just outside of the bedroom. For us, we scanned in the visual layer around 75% through the track.

With this intel, you now know you'll need the Flathead from completing The Pickup to help disable these security systems.

How to scan for thermal clues to find the Relic in The Information Braindance

To complete The Information Braindance, you are using the thermal layer to look for cool objects to see where the Relic is hidden. There's a few of these in the apartment - an aircon unit, a fridge, and even a bucket of ice for champagne to throw you off the scent.

To find the Relic location, you want to be watching around one third into the sequence. This is when Yorinobu is one the phone at the far side of the apartment.

Switch to the thermal layer, and make sure you are in a free-cam mode. Now look at the far corner of the apartment. This is a distant area not explored as part of the sequence, but since Evelyn is close enough, you are able to scan it, revealing a secret compartment in the floor.

With that scanned, you are free to exit the Braindance - however, it's well worth completing the optional objective above before you go.
