Destiny 2 Lost Memory Fragment locations: Where to find all Latent Memories and unlock Worldline Zero

Publish date: 2022-03-01

Destiny 2 Lost Memory Fragments are optional collectables you can find while exploring the Warmind DLC.

These fragments - also known as Latent Memories - are dotted throughout Hellas Basin. If you locate and shoot enough of them - specifically 35, and all 45 found - you'll unlock exclusive rewards, including the Worldline Zero Exotic Sword.

You can chip away at them while playing story missions and other activities, provided you have the right weaponry, and for any you have left, this Lost Memory Fragment locations list can help.

Update (August 3rd) - With the arrival of the Moments of Triumph, completing the full set of Latent Memories will net you additional points towards your desired milestone. The good news is, with directions (such as those listed below) it's one of the faster ones to tick off the list - taking around two hours in total. Happy hunting!

How Lost Memory Fragments work in Destiny 2

Lost Memory Fragments are small circular objects you can find throughout Hellas Basin, and like most collectables, can be surprisingly well hidden. There are a total of 45, and though you don't need them all to collect the Worldline Zero Exotic Sword, doing so gives you an additional reward - the G-335 Anseris Overdrive Exotic Sparrow.

If you see a Lost Memory Fragment, all you have to do is shoot it. However, some of these Fragments require specific elements to destroy. The trick is your weapon type must match their colour - so purple nodes for Void, blue nodes for Arc, and orange nodes for Solar.

There are also neutral white nodes which can be shot with any weapon, and dark red nodes for the DLC's newly added Valkyrie weapon.

As such, you'll want to pack with you at least one of each elemental type while exploring to make sure you can destroy any you come across. Having sniper rifles of all three is particularly usual as some are located at some considerable distance, and though you can usually shoot them with a regular rifle, it'll make life a little difficult.

You can track the number of Lost Memory Fragments on your map screen. Once you have reached 35 or 45 Lost Memory Fragments, you can collect the respective rewards straight away. Their locations are well hidden, and are discussed in more detail towards the end of this article.

Before you set off, it's worth preparing a few things. It's worth equipping the IKELOS as part of the Sleeper Simulant quest so any Cabal or Hive you clear out help contribute to the first stage of the quest, and if you have one, a Ghost that tracks Seraphite deposits is useful, since you'll run into quite a few while you explore.

Each destroyed Lost Memory Fragment also gives you a planetary token for your trouble, if you needed an extra incentive to undergo this activity.

Lost Memory Fragment locations in Olympus Descent

There are a total of three Lost Memory Fragments in Olympus Descent. Note though the following map shows the positions of the Lost Memory Fragments, you'll sometimes have to stand somewhere else to see them, and the following descriptions will confirm if that's the case.

1. Move into the area from the north, and follow the linear path until you see a crashed Warsat on a cliff edge. Move to the left of the Warsat and look down the cliff, where you'll see the Lost Memory Fragment location.

2. Head south into the middle of Olympus Descent, where you'll be in a large cavern with a chasm in the middle. Peer over the edge and you'll see a Lost Memory Fragment location below.

3. Head to the far south of the area where you emerge outside, not far from where you first started the Warmind DLC. Looking south, you'll see it high up on the cliff. Use a sniper rifle to take down this Lost Memory Fragment.

Lost Memory Fragment locations in Glacial Drift

There are a total of 14 Lost Memory Fragments in Glacial Drift. Note though the following map shows the positions of the Lost Memory Fragments, you'll sometimes have to stand somewhere else to see them, with the following descriptions confirming where that will be.

1. Fast travel to Glacial Drift, so you are starting on the southern cliff. Go right, then look back left, and you'll see the Lost Memory Fragment down below.

2. From where you fast travel to Glacial Drift, look left and down below the cliff edge, and you'll see the Lost Memory Fragment.

3. From where you emerge out of Olympus Descent, follow the cliff face so it's on your left. The Lost Memory Fragment is up above.

4. For this, you'll need the Valkyrie weapon. You'll find them by activating a Public Event or Escalation Protocol, then investigating a panel on the ground. Once you have it, go the north-west side of the bridge, then look underneath facing south. You'll see the red Lost Memory Fragment there.

5. For this, you'll need the Valkyrie weapon. You'll find them by activating a Public Event or Escalation Protocol, then investigating a panel on the ground. Once you have it, go to the south-west side of the bridge, and you'll see a broken tree stump. The red Lost Memory Fragment is in the top.

6. On the end of the west side of the bridge is a building. Enter, and the Lost Memory Fragment is on the left shelf.

7. Head to the end of the west side of the bridge, and you'll notice it's lined with tall pillars on each side. Leap onto the north side, and look on top of the building to the north, and you'll see it on the edge.

8. From the same vantage point as Lost Memory Fragment 7 above, turn right to the cliff edge to spot another.

9. Head to the east side of the bridge now, and climb the last pillar on the south side. If you look east, above the warehouse, you'll spot a Lost Memory Fragment.

10. Head inside the warehouse on the east side of the bridge. Look to the right, and the Lost Memory Fragment is in the rafters.

11. Head inside the warehouse in the far north-east of the area. Head inside to the top, then turn left, so you are looking at the far north-west corner. There's a fan on the wall here, and just to the upper right, is a Lost Memory Fragment.

12. This is outside and above the warehouse to the far north-east. This is really difficult to spot, so we recommend going to bridge, and standing on the second-to-last pillar on the north side. Look at the warehouse, and to the right of the Clovis Bray text, is a doorway with a Lost Memory Fragment just below. Just a sniper rifle round to take it out.

13. This is inside the Ma'adim Subterrane Lost Sector. As soon as you enter, you'll be in a large cavern, with a column in front of you. Walk around the column and look to the right to see the Lost Memory Fragment.

If you're struggling to find the Ma'adim Subterrane Lost Sector entrance, this video can help:

14. Also in Ma'adim Subterrane, continue through this opening cavern until you are on the far side of the crevice. Turn around so you are facing the way you came in, and look down to see the Lost Memory Fragment down below. Use a sniper rifle shot to reach it.

Lost Memory Fragments in Braytech Futurescape

There are a total of 12 Lost Memory Fragments in Braytech Futurescape. Note though the following map shows the positions of the Lost Memory Fragments, you'll sometimes have to stand somewhere else to see them, and the following descriptions will confirm if that's the case.

1. Fast travel into Braytech Futurescape, then look right and up. The Lost Memory Fragment is on the roof of the building.

2. Head into the building way Ana Bray herself is located. From the entrance, leap over the low walls and turn around, so the Brayscape sign is to your left. On a box is a Lost Memory Fragment.

3. Head north out of this building until you climb a set of stairs, and see a water feature. The Lost Memory Fragment is displayed right in front of you.

4. From the building Ana Bray is located, leave via the south exit and turn left, and follow this external wall round. You'll soon see some silos on the corner, and a building to your left with a '3' on the door. Leap on top of that, and look beyond, where a Lost Memory Fragment is sitting by some pipes.

5. From the building Ana Bray is located, leave via the south exit and turn right, to see a passage between two buildings. If you aim a sniper rifle on the upper left side, you'll spot a Lost Memory Fragment.

6. Head right out of the building Ana Bray is located, and follow the right wall until a black console with the number '01' next to it. Interacting with this opens a door nearby.

To reach it, head south-west until you see a building with '02' on the side. Enter the nearest door, and up the steps inside is a set of doors slightly open. Peer inside and you'll see a Lost Memory Fragment.

7. From the building Ana Bray is located, leave via the south exit, turning left then right when the area opens up, and you'll see a silo against the wall. On top of this is a Memory Node. You'll need a Valkyrie to destroy this, and the easiest way we found was to wait for a Warsat Public Event to start just on the other side of this building, and waiting for them to start spawning.

8. Head to the far east side and go along the outer walkway. Soon there will be a staircase going over a yellow pipe. Double jump over the railing and onto this yellow pipe to find a Lost Memory Fragment against the wall.

9. Head to the far south-east of the area, which is a road that is flanked by two high wide walkways. You'll want to go to the west-most side. Stand on the pipe at the north end, and look across to the otherside and south, where there's a bank of silos on their sides. If you aim a sniper rifle just right, you'll see a Lost Memory Fragment sticking out to the left.

10. From this far south-east area, go to the west-most walkway and go right to the edge. Look down, and you'll see the Lost Memory Fragment down below.

11. Enter the Core Terminus Lost Sector and in the first enemy-packed area is a door on the right. Use the prompt to open it, giving you access to the Lost Memory Fragment inside.

If you're struggling to find the Core Terminus Lost Sector entrance, this video can help:

12. Also in the Core Terminus Lost Sector, in the last room with the chest is another door in the far right corner. Again, approach it, use the prompt and fire at the Lost Memory Fragment within. Some reports say you need to keep some enemies alive for you to do this, so do it as soon as you enter the room to be safe.

Lost Memory Fragments in Dynamo Approach and Alton Dynamo

There are a total of 10 Lost Memory Fragments in Dynamo Approach and Alton Dynamo. Note though the following map shows the positions of the Lost Memory Fragments, you'll sometimes have to stand somewhere else to see them, and the following descriptions will confirm if that's the case.

1. Dynamo Approach is a small canyon overlooked by a communications tower to the south. If you look at the tower, you can see a Lost Memory Fragment shining on top of it. Shoot it down with a sniper rifle.

2. As soon as you enter Alton Dynamo, you'll be in an icy cave. Turn around to be faced with a Lost Memory Fragment.

3. After exiting the icy cave, you'll look upon a huge base. From here, look at the left edge of the base, and on the outside column, is a Lost Memory Fragment. Shoot at it with a sniper rifle.

4. When you enter the base proper, you'll be in a corridor that splits in two directions - left and right. Go right first, and you'll come across a huge datacentre. Run round the outside edge going right, following it round until you come to a huge tower. Run behind it and look up, where a Lost Memory Fragment waits.

5. Go back to the corridor, and take a left at the fork. Sprint through this room to enter another Hive-filled room bathed in orange light. Go up the steps to the centre of the room, and look up, to spot a Void Lost Memory Fragment. It's trapped behind a glass ceiling, however, so you'll need to climb the central column to the right to reach it. This is a tricky ascent, but if you face it dead on, and aim to sit on the vertical black pipe sticking out near the top, you should be able to aim for the Lost Memory Fragment.

6. After the orange-coloured room is a darker, outdoors area filled with Cabal. Go straight ahead to the corner, and hop up the ledge. Look out beyond and you'll see the Lost Memory Fragment shining in the darkness.

7. Go to the far end of this outdoors, Cabal-filled area, and turn around. You'll see the Lost Memory Fragment on the support beam high above.

8. Enter the door after the outdoors, Cabal-filled area to be faced with two doors. The Lost Memory Fragment is in the corner to the left.

9. This Lost Memory Fragment is hidden behind the red, right-most door in this corridor before the final area, but requires a trick to open it. Backtrack until you're at the fork in the corridor, and take a left as if you were coming back in this direction. But as soon as you enter the room, turn right and fire at the air vent cover high up the wall. Climb up the nearby box and enter.

At the other side you'll enter a hidden area. Follow the left wall and interact with the console.

Now return back through the vent, and continue through the enemy filled rooms until you are back at this final corridor. The right door will now intermittently open just enough to reveal a Lost Memory Fragment.

10. In the final room after the door puzzle mentioned above, you'll want to run to the right flank, and look at the far opposite corner. The Lost Memory Fragment is high above on a support beam.

Lost Memory Fragments in Aurora Reach and Mindlab: Rasputin

There are a total of six Lost Memory Fragments in Aurora Reach and Mindlab: Rasputin. Note though the following map shows the positions of the Lost Memory Fragments, you'll sometimes have to stand somewhere else to see them, and the following descriptions will confirm if that's the case.

1. When you first emerge outside in Aurora Reach, head along the left side of the catwalk before entering the building. Crouch, and look underneath to spot the Lost Memory Fragment.

2. Continue the linear route through Aurora Reach, and one or two corners after you crawl through a small tunnel, it'll be there on a corner.

3. When you first enter Mindlab: Rasputin, you'll see a Warsat suspended in the middle of a dark room. Hop onto it, and look ahead, where you'll see a ventilation shaft in the wall. Jump across, crawl through, turn left and the Lost Memory Fragment will be on the left hand side.

4. This one's tricky to find. Continue your way through Mindlab: Rasputin until you climb up a thin walkway and emerge in front of Rasputin's domain. Instead of turning in, jump across to the far opposite side, and run down another walkway. You'll emerge on a platform on the outside edge.

Jump up the ladder to the left, so you clamber up the top. From here, look right and up, and you'll see the Lost Memory Fragment in the distance.

5. Retrace your steps and enter the large area in front of Rasputin's door. Before you head to the upper level, there is a locked door straight ahead. The door won't open, but if you enter the doorway, then look up and left, you'll find a Lost Memory Fragment.

6. Clear all the enemies outside Rasputin's door - including those in the area far down below - and the door will turn from red and blue, allowing you to enter. On the walkway immediately afterwards, look left, and find the columns running down the side. The Lost Memory Fragment will be sat on the left side of one of these.

Lost Memory Fragment reward locations: Where to find Worldline Zero and G-335 Anseris Overdrive

When you have collected 35 and 45 Lost Memory Fragments respectively, you can claim their rewards from within Hellas Basin.

35 Lost Memory Fragment reward location for Worldline Zero

Enter the Core Terminus Lost Sector, and you'll find a group of enemies near a door on the right. Opposite that door is a corner with several computer consoles. Go round the corner left to come to a black and orange vault. Interact with this to receive your reward.

45 Lost Memory Fragment reward location for G-335 Anseris Overdrive

Return to the Warsat crashed on the side of the icy cliff in the far north part of Olympus Descent (it's number one in this list of Lost Memory Fragment Locations).

You can drop down the cliff to a ledge below, revealing a small alcove with a black and orange vault. Open it up to receive your reward - the G-335 Anseris Overdrive Exotic Sparrow and the Wormslayer and Hellas Basin Emblems.
