Publish date: 2022-04-19

Defeating Wolverine is the sixth Wolverine challenge released in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 4. Once this challenge is completed, you'll be able to unlock the Weapon X emoticon and Wolverine banner.

This set of challenges began with you finding mysterious claw marks, followed by raiding a Quinjet patrol site, then finding Wolverine's Trophy, next you had to launch yourself for all the Sentinel Hands without touching the ground and, fifthly, locate the Trask Transport Truck.

Completing all of the Wolverine challenges will allow you to unlock the special Wolverine skin in Fortnite.

Note this particular challenge is no longer able to be completed. What's new? Chapter 3 Season 3 has arrived! New additions include Reality Seeds and Saplings and riding animals, along with the new Battle Pass, characters collection and map changes. It's a good idea to know how to get XP fast in Fortnite.

Wolverine's location in Fortnite explained

Wolverine is a wandering optional NPC boss fight in Fortnite, which means that he can freely walk around a specific area on the Fortnite map. It also means that there's no guarantee he'll be in the same specific spot every match.

The areas where Wolverine wanders are Weeping Woods and Slurpy Swamp.

Finding Wolverine may take a good amount of time and, since there's only one Wolverine per match, keep in mind that another player might have killed him first. If that has happened, then you'll need to leave and enter a new match to defeat Wolverine.

Wolverine isn't locked to a specific part of Weeping Woods, so try to do a quick overview of the area, either by choppa or quickly moving from location to location.

When it comes to Slurpy Swamp, however, Wolverine prefers to stay close to the sewage plant itself, so, if you can't find him in Weeping Woods, have a look if he's down by the pipes.

We recommend searching for Wolverine during the early stages of the map, as you won't have to worry about the storm and, hopefully, Weeping Woods and Slurpy Swamp will be less crowded.

Remember - you have the rest of Season 4 to complete this challenge! You can always try another day if there are too many players also hunting down Wolverine!

Chapter 3 Season 3 has arrived - bringing with it a new Battle Pass, character collection, map locations and Victory Umbrella! You can now ride animals, find Reality Seeds, and use the new Grapple Glove, and Victory Crowns have returned. If you're after a specific Battle Pass skin, then it's a good idea to know how to get XP fast.

How to defeat Wolverine in Fortnite explained

If you're not properly prepared, Wolverine can be quite hard to defeat in Fortnite.

Before you even consider hunting him down, you'll want to collect a couple of powerful weapons, you'll ideally want at least one shotgun, and ensure that your shield is as full as possible.

When you are ready, head over to Weeping Woods and Slurpy Swamp to find Wolverine. It might be a good idea to take either a car or a choppa, because this will allow you to cover land faster, increasing your chance of encountering Wolverine.

Once you've found the mutant, ensure that you're a good distance away before making your first attack. This way you'll be able to cause a good amount of damage as Wolverine closes in and the battle becomes a lot harder.

We recommend using a shotgun for these first attacks and then switching to a faster weapon, as an assault rifle, because this should hopefully allow you to contain causing a good amount of damage, while staying safe from Wolverine's claws.

The moment Wolverine is close by make sure you start jumping and dodging his attacks straight away, as each one is quite powerful. This means that, if you're not careful, Wolverine can easily kill you in a couple of hits.

You must stay moving and shooting to defeat Wolverine. If you're a builder, try to create walls to block his path to give you a moment's rest, but don't be surprised if he manages to break them down very easily.

You must also ensure that you've completely defeated Wolverine to complete this challenge, so, once you've knocked down Wolverine, continue shooting him, until he's dead. You will want to do this quickly, because Wolverine can recover from a knock down stage.

Defeating Wolverine may take you a good number of tries, especially if you're encountering other players, but, if you keep at it, you will eventually defeat him!

Completing this challenge will, finally, unlock the Wolverine skin.
