Google Stadia release date detailed
Google has given its streaming box Stadia a release date: 19th November 2019. The service goes live at 5pm UK time.
We already knew it would launch next month, and how much it would cost to jump on board now: £119/$129.
For that price you get the Stadia Founder's Edition, which packs in a Chromecast Ultra for 4K and HDR Streaming, a limited-edition Night Blue controller and a three-month subscription to Stadia Pro for both you and a friend.
Physical kits will be sent out in the order they were purchased, Google says.
This all comes prior to the free Stadia Base service, which you can choose to wait (or downgrade to) when it arrives sometime in 2020. This will be available for more devices (Chrome browsers, Pixel 3/3a phones) but is limited to streaming of 1080p/60fps.
Digital Foundry went hands-on with Google Stadia earlier this year and provided streaming analysis and controller impressions. Still confused how it will all work? We've got a complete Google Stadia games list and guide to getting started.
