Gothita's 100% perfect IV in Pokémon Go explained

One of the reasons you might want to join Spotlight Hour is the chance to catch a perfect Gothita - meaning it has the highest possible IV stats, making it as powerful as possible for raids and the Master League.

The CP values - which correspond to perfect 15/15/15 stats - are as follows:

Note: Since the wild CP value aligns with your trainer level until 30, if you are below 30, then the maximum will be different. Since most players will be past 30, we've kept it to the above values to keep things simple.

Is there a shiny Gothita in Pokémon Go?

There is no shiny Gothita in Pokémon Go.

Though Gothita is not shiny in Pokémon Go right now, if we were to hazard a guess, we would say it's a firm Community Day candidate for sometime in the future, where it could make its shiny debut. (This is when you weight up its fan-favourite status, multiple evolutions, and final evolution Gothietelle being - by all accounts - a strong Psychic type.)

That's not to say we can't see a preview of a shiny Gothita would look like thanks to the mainline games, which unlike Pokémon Go, have shiny versions available from the get go...

What does shiny Gothita look like?

Going by the mainline games, you can see how a shiny Gothita looks in Sword and Shield from the 3:05 mark in the following video by buttercupxo on YouTube:

And if you want to go back further to Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, here's how Gothita appears via KangasKid18 on YouTube:

As you can tell, the main difference is in the eyes - changing from blue to red.

The Season of Go has arrived! The Pokémon TCG Crossover event is here, which includes the release of Wimpod and Golisopod. While Go Fest 2022 may be behind us, there are still three special research quests you might be working on - Pokémon Go Fest 2022, Rhi's Arrival and A Radiant World. Meanwhile, the Great League and Great League and Great League Remix are currently running in the Go Battle League Season 11. This season has also seen the lowering of the level requirement for Candy XL and introduced the first Ultra Beast, Nihilego.

Other reasons to catch as many Gothita as possible

Shiny or no shiny, there are plenty of reasons to catch as many Pokémon as possible during Spotlight Hour. This includes:

Don't forget you have just a single hour - between 6pm and 7pm local time - to catch as many Spotlight Hour Pokémon as possible. If you miss out, then don't sweat it - all four Spotlight Hour bonuses rotate around each month, and the highlighted creature will usually appear in great numbers again as part of a future event.
