Halo Infinite Fracture Tenrai event: Challenges, Tenrai dates and how to get the 'samurai' Yoroi armor

Publish date: 2023-03-03

Fracture: Tenrai in Halo Infinite is an event in the game's multiplayer mode.

First debuting one week after its beta debut, the free event allows you to unlock the 'samurai' Yoroi armor and other items over the course of the first season.

Similar to the 'main' Battle Pass, there is an event-specific pass which requires you to unlock a number of tiers to unlock and customise the samurai armour - however, you only have a brief period of time during the event to do so.

When does the Fracture Tenrai event start and end? Halo: Infinite Fracture: Tenrai event dates

The Halo Infinite Fracture Tenrai event is a limited time event which appears multiple times throughout Season 1. During this period, you'll be able to play a new limited-time mode and progress the Fracture: Tenrai event pass.

The Fracture Tenrai event dates are as follows:

The event will start and end at the Halo Infinite weekly reset time.

(Thanks to RhysWX on reddit for confirming the latter dates above.)

How Halo: Infinite Fracture: Tenrai event and challenges work

The Fracture: Tenrai event has its own event pass which you can view in the same area as the season-long battle pass and your weekly challenges.

To progress Fracture: Tenrai tiers, you must complete Fracture: Tenrai challenges, such as earning a killing spree. These are added to your weekly challenge pool, and are differentiated by a red strip.

If you cannot see any 'red' Fracture: Tenrai challenges, they are likely in the 'upcoming' set of weekly challenges. Press the Y button over the 'active' weekly challenges to see which challenges are remaining. When you have completed one of the 'active' ones, an 'upcoming' challenge will cycle in next.

There are a total of 10 Fracture: Tenrai event challenges to complete during the week - assigned to you at random from a pool of possible challenges - allowing you to unlock 10 tiers. (This was increased from seven in the event's debut week.) With 30 tiers in total to complete, this means you must participate in multiple weeks in order to complete the event pass in its entirety.

Though you cannot purchase tiers of the free event pass, you can use Challenge Swaps if you are struggling with any particular challenge.

With 10 challenges appearing each time, in theory you need to participate in three weeks to fully complete the event pass. This gives you a degree of flexibility, but also means you need to make significant progress within each event's appearance to get everything.

Though developer 343 has increased the number of Tenrai challenges from 7 to 10, between the limited number of tiers you can complete each time the Fracture: Tenrai event is active, and having you complete regular weekly challenges in order to surface the Fracture: Tenrai event challenges each time, it's a slow system that feels like a grind - and demands you check in during the above dates if you want to complete the pass.

343 Industries is said to be fixing progression with the Battle Pass long term, and hopefully they continue to address events such as this. Until then - be prepared to return to the game regularly to get everything from the Tenrai event.

Halo Infinite Season 2 has arrived, bringing with it the Interference event and Eaglestrike and Rakshasa armor sets. Until then, in multiplayer, we can help with completing weekly challenges, Starting the story? Think of it similar to how Destiny handles Iron Banner - which allows you to continue the event-specific quest whenever it returns throughout a season.

If you don't unlock every tier during the first week, then it will return six times throughout the first Season, which is set to conclude in May 2021.
