Pokémon Go Dialga counters, weaknesses and moveset explained

Publish date: 2022-02-24

Dialga, the Temporal Pokémon, will occasionally appear from the time vortex to appear in Pokémon Go.

If you want to add Dialga to your legendary collection, then you need to ensure that you know its weaknesses and counters.

Like with previous legendary Pokémon, such as Palkia and Giratina, Dialga will be available in five-star raids, so, if you want to add it to your Pokédex, you'll need to battle it alongside a group of trainers. Thanks to Remote Raiding, you can do this from home and even your own bed.

The Season of Go has arrived! The Pokémon TCG Crossover event is here, which includes the release of Wimpod and Golisopod. While Go Fest 2022 may be behind us, there are still three special research quests you might be working on - Pokémon Go Fest 2022, Rhi's Arrival and A Radiant World. Meanwhile, the Great League and Great League and Great League Remix are currently running in the Go Battle League Season 11. Everything we know about Dialga

Originating from the Sinnoh region, Dialga is a member of the creation trio, also known as the deity trio, alongside Palkia and Giratina.

According to legends, these three Pokémon were created by Arceus (i.e god) at Spear Pillar, which some believe to be the creation point from the entire Pokémon universe. Arceus then gave each member of the trio control over a certain dimension, which, in the case of Dialga, was time.

Giratina was banished, however, to the Distortion World due to its violent nature. After this Arceus would also create the lake trio - Azelf, Mesprit and Uxie - to calm either Dialga or Palkia if they ever went out of control.

Dialga debuted alongside the rest of Gen 4 in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It's also the mascot Pokémon for the Diamond game, appearing on both the box art and as a character in the storyline.
