Pokémon Go Jump-Start Research quest tasks and rewards explained
Jump-Start Research was first released as a celebration for the third anniversary of Pokémon Go's release.
This new collection of Special Research tasks is designed to introduce both new and returning players to a variety of features in Pokémon Go, from raids to battling other trainers.
For those who didn't start it at the time, Jump-Start Research returned in July 2020 to celebrate the arrival of the Skill Go Fest challenge.
Completing each step will reward with items that will help you level up and complete the Pokédex.

How 'Jump-Start Research' works in Pokémon Go
In March 2018, Pokémon Go introduced Research Quests, which allow players to complete objectives for rewards.
Similar to the Special Research quest lines for Mew, Celebi and Spiritomb, Jump-Start Research is a series of story-driven Special Research tasks.
Unlike the previous Special Research tasks, the ultimate reward of Jump-Start Research is not a Mystic or rare Pokémon. Instead, the aim of Jump-Start Research is, as the name suggests, to give new players a jump-start into the world of Pokémon Go. Each step is designed to introduce a new player to a feature in Pokémon Go, such as hatching eggs.
Jump-Start Research will also introduce returning players to the new features that have been added to Pokémon Go that they might have missed.
The quest is broken down into six steps, with three individual challenges making up each one. Completing each challenge and overall step will reward you with a variety of items.
There is no restriction on when you can complete the Jump-Start Research tasks, though in 2019 you needed to have started by September 2nd - and we assume there is a deadline to its 2020 return as well. Regardless - head over to the Research Tasks tab whenever your ready to get started.
