Kahuna Hala's Grand Trial, Fightinium Z and your first Ride Pager Pokémon ability, Tauros Charge, are the next major landmarks on your quest, now that you've finished up on Route 3 and your first Island Trial.

Here on this page we'll explain all you need to know about the story and main events as they unfold here, and as with all pages of our walkthrough we'll highlight any and all trainers, items and wild Pokémon available to catch as well.

For more general guides and other walkthrough pages like this meanwhile, head back to our main Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon walkthrough and guide hub.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Kahuna Hala's Grand Trial, Fightinium Z and Tauros Charge

As you head back to Iki town from Route 3, you'll end up speaking to Kahuna Hala - now that you've beaten your first trial - and the only one on Melemele Island - it's time for the first Grand Trial against Hala himself, the Island Kahuna.

He uses fighting-type Pokémon, which are easily countered by some of the Flying-types you may have picked up on Route 3 earlier, and when defeated will reward you with both your second Z-Crystal, Fightinium Z, and the ability to use Tauros Charge from your Ride Pager.

For more on Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon, head to our main Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon walkthrough and guide hub, which includes guides to new Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Pokémon and Pokédex changes, the Festival Plaza, a list of Global Missions and rewards, an explainer on Pokémon Bank, a dedicated page on Pokémon Competitive Training, including IV Training, EVs and hidden stats, Breeding 6IV Pokémon explained and how to farm Bottle Caps fast for Hyper Training. What's more, we have pages on the Rockruff event for getting Dusk Form Lycanroc and, last but not least, a full Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon QR codes list for adding all Pokémon to your Pokédex.

Tauros Charge means you can now backtrack to some additional areas, like some more grass that houses rare wild Pokémon on Route 1, and what's more, it also means it's time to head to the next island.

After an enforced visit to the photo booth, head back to Big Wave Beach off of Route 2. Now, Mantine Surf is available to you - brush up on the instructions and then hop on!

The tutorial is simple enough - swing left, and then right towards the wave, and mash the buttons for some mid-air tricks - and eventually you'll reach Akala Island. Enjoy the journey!

Next up: Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon - Heahea City, Route 4, Pikachu Valley

Finally, it's worth noting that you'll meet Samson Oak - relative of the Professor Oak, on the beach here before setting off. He explains that you can exchange your collected Totem stickers for Totem Pokémon you've defeated!
