Resident Evil Re:Verse delayed to 2022

Publish date: 2022-07-28

Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer component for this year's Resident Evil Village, will now launch in 2022.

Re:Verse had been given a vague July launch window, after previously being delayed from launching alongside Village back in May.

This latest setback, of at least six months, is the most major yet - though it doesn't come as too much of a surprise. Fan response to Re:Verse's beta was mixed to say the least, and Capcom said today it needed more time "to deliver a smooth gameplay experience".

There's also the fact that Capcom recently confirmed single-player DLC was now in development for Village - it's safe to say this is far more anticipated by fans. And then there's the ongoing development situation in Japan, and worldwide, which has impacted the video game industry as a whole.

Re:Verse is a six-player deathmatch competitive multiplayer Resident Evil experience. You play as various characters from throughout the Resident Evil series, all drenched in a comic book-style effect.

For now, Capcom has told Resident Evil fans with boxed copies of Village to "keep track of the included Resident Evil Re:Verse download code or add it to your account now so that you are ready to play when the game launches next year".

For players who purchased a physical version of Resident Evil Village, we recommend that you keep track of the included Resident Evil Re:Verse download code or add it to your account now so that you are ready to play when the game launches next year.

This week, a Digital Foundry investigation looked into claims that pirated copies of Resident Evil Village on PC were running better than their uncracked counterparts. Capcom has today responded, promising a fix.
