The Outer Worlds is finally coming to Steam - here's when you can play it

Publish date: 2022-08-27

There's good news for patient PC fans - sci-fi sim The Outer Worlds is finally coming to Steam on 23rd October, 2020.

Originally only available on PC via Steam competitor, Epic Games Store, players had to wait for the year-long exclusivity deal to expire before they could add it to their Steam libraries.

The Outer Worlds launched first for PC via EGS, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One back in October last year to generally favourable reviews. It's developed by Obsidian, the studio perhaps best known for its work on Fallout: New Vegas, and more recently South Park: The Stick of Truth.

According to the Steam store page listing, The Outer Worlds on Steam will feature achievements, full controller support, Steam trading cards, Steam Cloud saving, and can be played remotely on compatible TVs.

Sci-fi role-player The Outer Worlds also rolled out both physically and digitally on Nintendo Switch in June 2020.

In Eurogamer's The Outer Worlds review, Edwin Evans-Thirlwell described it as "RPG comfort food that never stretches the imagination."
