Battle of Verdansk walkthrough: How the Battle of Verdansk event in Warzone works explained

The Battle of Verdansk is the title tag for Warzone event where the Call of Duty: Vanguard reveal takes place.

Warzone Battle of Verdansk event gameplay

The event kicks off as a separate playlist in Warzone. A total of 32 players (eight squads) all matchmake in the same lobby, and the match is entirely PvE (yes, even before the game commences.)

From here the first step is simple: all squads must head to the same spot and prepare the ambush for the incoming armored train. This is done by planting TNT at the marked location on the map.

After all groups have finished doing this, a countdown will indicate when the vehicle is about to appear.

The goal is simple: all 32 players must join forces together to take down the armored train at all costs, destroying the turrets on each of the cars while simultaneously damaging the cars themselves on specific occasions.

You're granted an assault rifle and a rocket launcher by default (you can revive indefinitely, and the loadout will change each time), but there are different explosives and other weapons such as LMGs and grenade launchers to loot.

Of course, this is a moving train we're talking about, which means there'll be plenty of vehicle options around for you to tag along. It's likely that you'll see other players flying helicopters or driving trucks, so always keep an eye on these opportunities to jump in any available seat.

Keep in mind that the train will attack back with its turrets. During a few moments of the match, it will also begin shooting explosive rounds, which can be quite deadly even if you're fully armored. Don't worry, though, as you will respawn in a manner of seconds, and there's no real penalty.

It's worth noting that the total squad damage will impact on how many rewards you get, so it's best to focus fire as early as possible to maximize the time.

The train will slowly start losing turrets, as well as carts (you can always see its current state in a graph at the top of the screen). At one point, after all cars have been destroyed, the locomotive will be destroyed.

During the final push, the train will begin to move slower than before, up to the point of being immobilized in front of a gas station. There, everyone can just give it with everything they got until it explodes.

Congrats! You have completed the Battle of Verdansk. But there is one step left.

Bombs will suddenly begin dropping from the sky, and it's time to make a run for it. You can't use any vehicles at this point, so prepare to sprint towards the marked location. (In our experience, the sprint button would sometimes stop working during the match - while it may have been just a temporary bug, it's worth keeping in mind.)

From here, whether or not you make it to the marked spot is indifferent, as the mission will end up in the same way. That being said, if you manage to signal for exfil, you'll obtain an extra reward (which can be seen in the following section.)

All that is left to do is to sit back, relax, and watch the trailer for Call of Duty: Vanguard.

Warzone Battle of Verdansk rewards explained

It wouldn't be an event without its array of rewards. Taking part of the Battle of Verdansk will grant you a unique set, which you can see at a glance below:

These are primarily unlocked by doing damage to the armored train. The total amount is shared amongst the squad, as well as the rewards, so it's best to organize the group so everyone is always shooting at the target.
